In her long-standing role at the practice, Elizabeth oversees our three locations. “When we opened the practice in December 1990, I worked at the front desk, answering the phone between seeing patients and also serving as an assistant.”

During the practice’s early days, just Elizabeth and Dr. Cutbirth were running the practice. As the dental office grew, they added hygienists, a front desk person and an assistant.

Helping Patients Have a Positive Experience

Kind and caring, Elizabeth ensures that her patients have a fantastic experience at every visit. She enjoys greeting them when they come in (she mainly works in our Magnolia location) and offering them a cup of cold water before they leave.

She also takes care of payroll and works out deals with suppliers to keep costs low for our patients.

A Marriage (and Partnership) Made in Heaven

Elizabeth and Dr. Cutbirth have been married since 1980. At the young age of 15, Elizabeth prayed, “God don’t bring me anyone unless it’s who you want for me.” She never dated anyone but Dr. Cutbirth and God revealed to her that he would indeed be her future husband.

All these years later, Elizabeth still considers him to be her best friend and she’s his-of course!

Always giving God credit for all that they have, Elizabeth said, “God’s been so good to us and we’ve been very blessed.”

In addition to having a strong marriage, Elizabeth and Dr. Cutbirth also enjoy a solid partnership. “He’s a great man and it’s so easy to work with him.” Elizabeth loves that her husband built his practice on treating people the way he wants to be treated.

In Her Spare time

When she’s not juggling the multiple demands of being office manager, Elizabeth loves to spend time with Dr. Cutbirth, cook, work around their small ranch and stay active in their church. She also enjoys visiting with her three grown children (two sons and a daughter, as well as daughter in-law), all of whom were raised in our dental office.

Elizabeth and Dr. Cutbirth also love doting on their three grandchildren.

Melinie Ivey, CEO

Growing up in a small west Texas town, Melinie has always loved the community feel that comes with living in a place where it seems that everyone knows each other. In 1988, she moved to Magnolia and raised her two sons there. She enjoys seeing familiar faces out and about in the community-whether at the grocery store, sporting events or church.

Joining Our Practice Family

Before joining our practice in 2003, she initially was offered the position of hygiene coordinator. Through the years, she’s had other roles, including front desk and financial coordinator. In 2017, when our Huntsville location opened, she was named Chief Financial Officer. She assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer in March 2020.

Melinie loves being a part of our team of committed individuals, especially our dentists, who are passionate about what they do.

Ensuring a Positive Patient Experience

With our three locations, Melinie is committed to making sure that our patients’ experience is the same at each office-an excellent one. “From the time they call the office to the moment they sit in the dental chair to when they walk out the door, we try to forge and maintain a positive patient-office connection.”

Understanding that many people feel uneasy about going to the dentist, Melinie always helps put patients at ease with her kind and caring demeanor.

Melinie also is committed to ensuring that patients are educated and informed and know what their insurance benefits cover. Communication is key. “We strive to keep patients informed of out of pocket expenses.”

Treating Patients Like Family

Melinie loves being part of the Cutbirth, Sanderson Family Dental Group team as she appreciates our adherence to our core values, which include treating people how we would want to be treated. Melinie enjoys our friendly atmosphere and helps to ensure that our patients feel like family.

Through the years, Melinie has retained that love for small-town living. She enjoys visiting with patients and building lasting relationships with them. “It’s a perk of my job that I get to see people that I’ve known for years who are still coming to the practice.”

Witnessing a Mindset Shift

“To see people come in-especially those who were apprehensive about going to the dentist-and then once their work is complete, they realize that they’re not going to wait as long to return because their experience was pleasant-I love hearing that. It’s fulfilling that we’re helping people take care of their health and changing their mindset about going to the dentist.”

In Her Spare Time

Outside of Cutbirth, Sanderson Family Dental Group, Melinie loves to travel to see her grown sons. One is a church pastor in England. He and his wife have a little girl. Melinie’s other son is in the Navy, living in Georgia with his wife and three children.

Melinie loves the history of our Lone Star State and enjoys listening to live music.

Moving Towards Big Goals

Starting at an early age, Emily knew she wanted to do big things in life. In 2008, Emily’s family (which include both parents and older brother) were offered a great opportunity moving from the small town of Rainham, England to the sweet country town of Magnolia, Texas for her father’s work and thus beginning her greatest journey.

In January of 2019, Emily was blessed to be welcomed into the Cutbirth and Sanderson dental family, where she started out working and training as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Sanderson. After a few short months she was then promoted to being both Melinie and Elizabeth’s assistant handling back office duties.

Family Atmosphere

Emily’s favorite thing about being part of the Cutbirth and Sanderson family group is how much each and every staff member cares for their patients. She states, “I love considering that even how much the practice has grown in the few years I’ve been here, the owners, the doctors, the staff, everyone still treats our patients like family and puts their needs first every time to ensure they are taken care of, it’s just amazing to be a part of.”

Since being in her current position as administrative assistant, Emily has been able to grow more both in the dental field and as a person. She is currently training under Elizabeth Cutbirth to take on a bigger role at the office in overseeing the three locations needs.

In Her Spare Time

In her spare time, Emily enjoys a good balance of either staying home relaxing with her fur baby Nitro and watching movies or going on hikes and traveling around the country while camping out under the stars in her Roof Top Tent, on top of her vehicle.

Coming into Dental

After entering into dentistry in 1989, Stephanie had been living and working in Houston with no idea where it would take her or the adventures that awaited her. In 2001, Stephanie and her family moved to the small town of Magnolia, to raise their two amazing children, Collin and Shilo.

Stephanie states, “When I walked into the doors at Cutbirth and Sanderson in 2008, I felt very right at home and so welcomed. “Stephanie did state she had taken a small break from dentistry during that time period but knew deep down this is the path that was made for her.

Working with Family

Stephanie worked right alongside Dr. Cutbirth for 10+ years as his Dental Assistant, “all the while getting to see his wonderful character as well as his care and compassion for our patients,” she states.

At the beginning of 2021, Stephanie shifted into an office manager position, which in her words, “gives me an opportunity to expand my knowledge and abilities further to helping our patients and staff members in different ways, I want our patients to feel as comfortable as possible from the moment they make an appointment and walk in our doors, to when they are sitting in the dental chair and visiting with the front office upon leaving.”

Family Life

Stephanie’s two children are now adults and she is so excited to see what the future holds for them as they set their paths for each of their own upcoming adventures in their lives as well as getting ready to start each of their own families.

Kendall Benson, Office Manager – Huntsville

Kendall Benson, Office Manager – Huntsville

Where It Began

In 2019 Kendall accepted the job as front desk and insurance coordinator at the Huntsville location. Kendall has always known that no matter what the job may be, she always wanted to be somewhere she can build relationships. She states, “I would have never guessed that I would find myself making a career in a dental office, but here I am and I think it’s the best place for me.”

Growing up, Kendall was extremely apprehensive about any sort of doctor’s office. “I almost always convinced myself that I was better without them. Obviously, with age that is something that I have learned is far from correct, but us as humans tend to convince ourselves otherwise. Now, seeing patients of all age come in with that same fear, I find it instinct to put them at ease.”

Back To Her Roots

Being a born and raised Huntsville native, Kendall states, “I almost instantly find a way that I am connected with the patient. To me, there is nothing better than that “old familiar feeling.” She feels that by addressing a connection, that family feeling is established, but it also helps put the patients mind on something other than the reason for their visit. “Whether it be a customer from my family’s bakery they once owned, or a student that has the same teacher or sports coach I once had, it’s simply a less scary conversation.”

At the beginning of 2021 Kendall accepted the position as Office Manager in Huntsville. Her days consist of many things, whether it be greeting a patient at the door and keeping the front organized or assisting the staff in the back. “I like to offer as much help as possible. Ultimately, what I love about each day is being the reason for a patients smile!”

Enjoying Life Outside Work

“Currently, my husband and I are living the glamorous life in our fifth wheel, so we don’t spend much time at home. We try to keep ourselves busy either at the game ranch he works for, or taking mini vacations with our friends and family and relax on Sunday with our three fur babies- Diesel, Waylon and Ringo.”
